Assoc. Prof. Guanghsu Chang,

Dr. Chang is an associate professor in the Department of Engineering and Technology at Western Carolina University. Prior to this position, Dr. Chang worked as an Associate Professor at Minnesota State University-Mankato, East Tennessee State University, and National Taipei University of Technology. He has spent the last 22 years in teaching industrial/manufacturing engineering programs. He earned his MSIE, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is author or coauthor of more than 100 technical articles, predominately on the Robot Applications, manufacturing Automation, Design for Assembly (DFA), Case-based Reasoning, and Neural Networks. His research interests include robotic applications, manufacturing, DFA, and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) applications. He was a vice president of Southern Minnesota APICS (2009-2012) and faculty advisor of APICS student chapter at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Since 1992 he has successfully worked on several industrial projects to implement automation robotic systems and business process redesign applications. Dr. Chang has consulted for many companies in improving the design/manufacturing process. He is very active in the promotion of the research and education in robot applications and participates regularly in local, national, and international conferences.
